The automation system of a technological facility includes a control and monitoring panel and an operator's PC.

The following conditions for the System operation are met:

  • The system operates around the clock in real time in accordance with the operating mode of technological equipment and provides the operating personnel with reliable and valid information about the state of technological equipment and values of technological parameters received from the field instrumentation and control, with warning and alarm signalling of dangerous deviations from the norm, promptly displays the dynamics of processes, performs automatic and remote control of process parameters.

  • The system displays history of changes in technological parameters and provides information for analysis process background;

  • The system is scalable, i.e. it provides possibility of connection additional parameters and objects;

The system ensures:

  • the safe conduct of production and technological processes;

  • the simplicity and user-friendliness of the systems for production personnel;

  • possibility of development and modernisation of the system;

  • possibility of exporting the database to MS SQL Server 2000;

  • database archive storage period of 60 days;

  • permanent display of process parameters on the mimic diagram

The controller provides:

  • collection of data from sensors;

  • processing of process parameter signals;

  • interlocking of emergency situations;

  • control and management of executive mechanisms;

  • data exchange with upper level;

  • diagnostics of measuring sensors state in case of open or short circuit in 4-20mA circuits

The computer of the operator's workstation provides:

  • data exchange with the lower level;

  • archiving;

  • displaying on the visual display the status of shutoff and control valves and current parameters of technological equipment, as well as the status and parameters of power supply objects;

  • issuance of reporting forms;

  • audible alarms;

  • change of technological settings;

  • manual change of settings for the regulator;

  • manual remote control of electric drives.

The system software provides all functions implemented in the system and includes:

  • controller software;

  • Operator's software;

System software allows testing of controller and program to detect failures and errors.

Software development is performed with high level languages according to IEC 6131-3 standard.

Software packages from Emerson Process Management, Siemens, Roqwell Automation, Schneider Electric, etc. are used as base software. licensed for the required number of device tags.

User interface (HMI) of operator's workstation is developed with the use of mnemonic schemes and graphic elements, based on SCADA-systems, convenient for perception. Messages and queries shall be issued by the system in Russian language. The system of summaries and reports is designed to generate and print or display graphs (historical trends) and text documents for an indeterminate period of time.
